Information we collect

Order details — your name, email address, the GPS coordinates or place description for your compass, any engraving text, and notes you provide.
Shipping & payment — when you check out, your payment is handled by our payment provider (Stripe) and your shipping address is used to calculate live shipping rates and deliver your order. We receive an order/payment confirmation, but we do not see or store full card numbers.
Usage data — basic, privacy-friendly analytics such as page views, referring source, and which buttons are clicked, used to improve the site.

How we use your information

To build, confirm, and ship your order, and to contact you about it.
To provide customer support and respond to your messages.
To understand how the site is used and improve it.
To comply with our legal and tax obligations.

Sharing

We don't sell your personal information, and we don't share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We share it only with service providers who help us run the business — for example our payment processor (Stripe), our website host (Netlify), our shipping/label provider (Shippo), and the carriers that deliver your order (such as USPS, UPS, or FedEx) — and only as needed to fulfil your order or operate the site. We may also disclose information if required by law.

Customer stories on our map

The “Stories” map on our site shows approximate locations and short stories. We only publish a customer's story or location with their permission, and we keep it general rather than precise.

Data retention

We keep order information for as long as needed to fulfil the order and meet our legal and accounting obligations, then delete or anonymise it.

Your rights
